Elementary and High School Athletics
The role of officials in Elementary and High School Sport is to support OFSAA's motto of "education through sport". School sport should be a positive experience for everyone, with priorities placed on developing values - and officials do play a role in this process.

High school sport enhances the education of students. School athletics are a continuation of the classroom, and teach life lessons and values such as citizenship, sportsmanship, teamwork, and hard work. The emphasis on athletics in schools should be to prepare the young people of today with the necessary skills that will allow them to become future productive citizens of society.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE & ADVANCEMENT
The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) is a federation of 18 regional school athletic associations geographically spread across the province. OFSAA is comprised of student-athletes, teacher-coaches, principals, and sport administrators all committed to the philosophy of education through school sport. As a not-for-profit, their main priority is to work with volunteer teacher-coaches to provide 45 provincial championships and seven festivals across 21 sports for Ontario’s student-athletes.

Classifications are broken down by student population, with OFSAA offering 3 Volleyball Championships as outlined below:
-
"A" - Schools with a student population of 500 or fewer
-
"AA" - Schools with a student population from 501-950
-
"AAA" - Schools with a student population from 951+

Attending, and winning, an OFSAA Championship is the pinnacle of High School sport.
The Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (EOSSAA) is a member association of the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA). Winners of EOSSAA Championships, in their respective classifications, are promoted to OFSAA Championships.
EOSSAA consists of all eligible secondary schools in Eastern Ontario across 6 athletic associations including:

-
KASSAA - Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association
-
LCIAA - Lanark County Interschool Athletic Association
-
LGSSAA - Leeds and Grenville Secondary Schools Athletic Association
-
PRSSAA - Prescott-Russell Secondary Schools Athletic Association
-
SD&GSSAA - Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Secondary Schools Athletic Association

Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association (KASSAA) and Leeds and Grenville Secondary Schools Athletic Association (LGSSAA) are the two local associations of EOSSAA for which KDVC provides officials. Advancement to EOSSAA/OFSAA competition will be determined using the guidelines listed in the KASSAA constitution.
